The Mazda MX-30 marked an important step in Mazda’s electrified journey, combining distinctive design with innovative electric and plug-in hybrid technology. While the Mazda MX-30 is no longer available to buy new, it remains a compelling choice on the used market, offering advanced safety, premium quality and a uniquely refined driving experience. Both the pure electric and plug-in hybrid versions achieved the maximum five-star Euro NCAP safety rating, providing confidence and peace of mind.

The pure electric Mazda MX-30 features Mazda’s e-SKYACTIV drive technology for smooth, zero-emissions driving, while the MX-30 R-EV pairs electric power with an 830cc rotary engine that acts as a generator to extend range, delivering a seamless and distinctive driving feel.

In 2022, the MX-30 received key updates including improved rapid charging capability, reducing charging times from 20 percent to 80 percent in around 26 minutes. It also introduced refreshed interior and exterior colour options, along with a choice of trim levels including Prime-Line, Exclusive-Line and Makoto. The plug-in hybrid R-EV added the Edition R specification, celebrating the return of the rotary engine with unique design details.

One of my favourite features of the MX-30 is its driveability. Most electric cars lose the traditional driving sensations, but the MX-30 still feels like a great car to drive.
