Car Service Plans: Everything You Need to Know

Car Service Plans: Everything You Need to Know

Getting your car serviced regularly protects you and your passengers’ safety, reduces the risk of costly repairs and mitigates the depreciation of your car. A car service plan makes regular servicing more convenient by allowing you to spread the cost of your scheduled servicing and protecting you from cost inflation of parts and the service itself.

In this guide we’ll cover what a car service plan is and how it works, what the benefits of using a car service plan are, before looking at the car service plans we offer at T W White & Sons.

Whether you drive a Mazda or a Suzuki, get in contact with one of our car service centres, where our team can walk you through the options and help tailor a car service plan to your car’s needs.

What Is a Car Service Plan?

A car service plan is a pre-payment arrangement that covers a fixed number of services over a set period or mileage limit. Rather than paying for each service as it comes around, you agree a price upfront and spread that cost over monthly payments.

Although you may have heard car services typically categorised as interim service, full service and major service, at T W White & Sons we offer tailored car servicing depending on the age, mileage and use of the vehicle. Learn more about our car service process.

This means that our car service plans can be fully customised to your car, so you can get your car serviced at the right intervals, with exactly the level of attention your vehicle needs.

What Are the Benefits of a Car Service Plan?

The most significant benefit of a car service plan is that your costs are protected against inflation. If the cost of the car service, or any parts that need replacing increase, you still pay the originally quoted price.

Monthly payments also give you predictable running costs. There are no sudden bills when a car service is due, just a fixed amount which makes budgeting easier.

Car service plans promote regular servicing, preventing smaller issues from turning into more dangerous and expensive problems. This not only gives you peace of mind that your car is safe, but also helps you to meet your legal obligation of ensuring that your vehicle is roadworthy.

A car service plan also means that your car is more likely to have a complete service record which protects your manufacturer’s warranty and can have a positive effect on your car’s resale value.

Our Service Plans

At T W White & Sons, we use national manufacturer service plans for both Mazda and Suzuki vehicles, which cover new and used cars.

We previously offered a T W White own-brand plan and an original Mazda manufacturer plan, which remain in use for some existing customers. For any new car service plan quotes, we now exclusively use the Mazda and Suzuki national car service plans. Mazda’s national service plan launched in late 2025, with Suzuki’s following in early 2026.

Pricing on these car service plans is set at a national level, so the rate you’re quoted is the same regardless of which site you visit. If you’re taking out a plan on a used car, you’ll simply need to confirm which service is next due, and the plan is built from that point.

If you want a tailored car service plan for your Mazda or Suzuki, but you’re unsure of what level of servicing is right for your car, get in touch with one of our Mazda dealerships or our Suzuki dealerships, where one of our experts can provide a no-obligation quote for a fully tailored car service plan.

What’s Included in The National Car Service Plans?

The core plan covers your scheduled car servicing, with the option to include add-ons such as MOTs, an air conditioning service, and planned parts replacements. For example, Mazda’s SkyActiv-X engine’s spark plugs have a scheduled replacement at 40,000 miles, and this can be incorporated into your car service plan from the outset.

As well as keeping your service records in order, the car service plan helps protect your manufacturer’s warranty through regular servicing. For Suzuki customers, Suzuki’s service-activated warranty can be extended from seven to ten years when the vehicle is serviced in line with the manufacturer’s schedule. For Mazda customers, regular servicing helps you to maintain your warranty, which is now 6 years or 100,000 miles for vehicles registered after 1 September 2025.

Our car service plans cover scheduled servicing, but fault investigation and repairs fall outside of this scope. However, as T W White & Sons is a main dealer, we would still investigate any issues under warranty at no charge during the warranty period.

Commitment and Flexibility

We can provide you with a no-obligation quote for a car service plan, so you can find out exactly what a plan would cost and include before making any commitments.

When you set up your plan, we’ll use the age of your car, its mileage and how you use it to determine the appropriate number of scheduled services each year. Your car service plan can be amended if your mileage changes.

Cancellation and Transferability

Our car service plans offer full flexibility: you can cancel the plan or transfer it to a different vehicle. Any credit remaining on your plan will be refunded, minus a small administration fee of around £25.

The plan can also be used at any Mazda or Suzuki dealership respectively, not just the one where you originally set it up, so you’re not locked into a single location.

Conclusion

A car service plan is a practical and often cost-effective way to stay on top of your vehicle’s maintenance, protect your manufacturer’s warranty and keep your costs predictable by spreading them across monthly payments.
