The KGM Korando is a spacious and versatile mid-size SUV great for city driving or weekend getaways with the family. It was awarded a Euro NCAP 5-star rating for its 6 airbag system, high-tensile strength steel chassis and driver safety aids, ensuring that you and your loved ones are well protected.
The Korando is available in one trim level (K35) as a 6 speed automatic or a 6 speed manual. In the automatic variant the driver can select different driving modes (Normal/Winter/Sport) for a more adaptable driving experience. Both transmission types have a 1.5GDI-Turbo engine, which is fuel efficient and provides plenty of low-speed torque (280Nm).
On the inside there is ergonomically designed premium leather seating with generous leg space, particularly for the rear seats. The infotainment system has a 9” HD Navigation display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to seamlessly connect your phone to the car.
Available in 3 colours that enhance the bold design of the Korando’s exterior: Grand White, Iron Silver and Space Black.

All Korando models have a 1.5 litre petrol engine.
The WLTP combined fuel consumption for this engine is 36.66mpg.
Although the Korando is 2WD, part-time four-wheel drive allows the driver to choose when to activate the system, depending on changing driving conditions or for off-road use. There is the choice of high range 4×4 for slippery conditions or low range for high torque and control in off-road situations.
The Korando can tow up to 1500kg.
The Korando is available with manual or automatic transmission.
1983

SSangYong (now KGM) launched the first generation Korando in 1983 after taking over Geohwa Co and the name, Korando. It is a contraction of the motto “Korean Can Do”.
The model was built for maximum durability (including off-road driving) and performance.
1996

The second generation of the Korando was launched in 1996 to complement the Musso, often referred to as a “shortened Musso”.
It had a variety of petrol and diesel engine options.
2011

In 2011, the third generation Korando was launched, marking a significant milestone as the brand’s first monocoque body SUV.
Powered by a newly developed 2.0L diesel engine, it represented a huge step forward in design and engineering for KGM.
2012
A limited edition of the Korando was launched in 2012.
Unique features included 18″ alloy wheels, a rear spoiler, and tinted windows.
It was available in three colour options: Vitamin Red, Grand White, and Space Black.
Only 150 units were released to the UK market.
2012

In August 2012 SsangYong (now KGM) launched the Korando Sports to combine the Korando’s luxury feel with a hard working 4×4 pick-up. The towing capacity of the Korando Sports was upgraded to 1,050kg in 2015.
It came with an optional moulded rear canopy to provide estate car versatility.
It was available in four colour options: Grand White, Space Black, Fijian Blue, Marble Grey.
2019
