Everything You Need To Know About The New KGM Musso EV

The Musso EV was unveiled in early 2025 as Korea’s first all-electric pickup truck, combining the practicality of a traditional pickup with the comfort and refinement you would expect from an SUV.

Powered by an 80.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, the KGM Musso EV offers a driving range of up to 261 miles on a single charge, based on WLTP testing. While an exact UK on-sale date has not yet been confirmed, KGM has indicated that the Musso EV is expected to arrive in the UK in early 2026.

Inside, the Musso EV features a modern, well-equipped cabin packed with technology designed to enhance both driving enjoyment and safety. On the outside, it retains a tough, purposeful pickup design, while its electric performance delivers the smooth, responsive drive of a fully electric vehicle. This balance makes it an appealing option for drivers looking for the versatility of a pickup without compromising on comfort or accessibility.

Pricing is expected to start from around £38,000, although final UK pricing has yet to be confirmed by KGM. Register your interest and be the first to hear the latest updates on the Musso EV’s release.

Electric performance and charging

The KGM Musso EV will be available as a 2 wheel-drive and a 4 wheel-drive, with each model powered by the same 80.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. The 2WD Musso EV uses a single 152.2 kW electric motor and offers a driving range of up to 261 miles on a single charge.

The 4WD version features two electric motors, one at the front and one at the rear, delivering a single charge driving range of 236 miles. The Musso EV’s instantaneous peak torque showcases the benefit of using an electric motor, particularly for towing.

Charge time for both the 2WD and 4WD models is similar at around 10 hours with an 11 kW standard home charger, while rapid charging at a public DC charger allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in an impressive 36 minutes. The Musso EV comes with a DC combo charging port, so fast charging from a standard public charger is simple and convenient.

Exterior design and features

The exterior of the Musso EV strikes a balance between the rugged design of a pickup and modern touches that make it stand out from the crowd. It is built to look tough and purposeful, while also offering the comfort and refinement more commonly associated with an SUV. Below are some of the key exterior features:

  • SUV-style unibody construction: Instead of a traditional body-on-frame setup usually associated with pickups, the Musso EV uses a unibody chassis. This improves ride comfort and handling, while also enhancing overall safety.
  • Authentic pickup design: 17-inch alloy wheels, side steps, a utility roof rack and a C-pillar garnish behind the cabin maximise the feel of a traditional pickup truck.
  • Unique LEDs: The block-type design of the full LED daytime running lights (DRLs) and indicators enhances the distinctive styling. The positioning of LEDs at the front and rear of the vehicle is optimised for visibility.
  • Functional load bed: A lamp on the right-hand side makes loading and unloading easier in low light, while rear bumper steps provide easier access to the load bed. Self-levelling suspension helps maintain stability when the load bed is carrying weight.
  • Loading and towing: The Musso EV can tow a 1,800kg trailer and offers a load bed capacity of up to 690kg.
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L): At the front of the truck there is an external V2L connector where electronic equipment can be powered directly from the truck, adding extra versatility for work or leisure use.

KGM also offer plenty of accessories such as: A canopy/hard top for the load box, a sliding load bed, a fixed towbar and more, which can be found at.

Interior design

The interior of the KGM Musso EV delivers a level of comfort, technology and refinement that goes beyond what many people expect from a pickup truck. Below are some of the key design features:

  • ALPINE sound system: This immersive sound system is optimised for the interior environment, delivering rich, well-balanced audio.
  • 2nd-row sliding & reclining seats: The second row offers sliding functionality and reclines by up to 32 degrees, helping to maximise space and improve comfort for rear passengers.
  • Dual zone automatic air conditioner: Allows the driver and front passenger to set individual temperature preferences for a more comfortable journey.
  • Twin 12.3-inch screens: One screen serves as the digital instrument cluster, while the other handles infotainment. Both are angled towards the driver for improved visibility and ease of use.
  • Smartphone connectivity and charging: Includes a wireless charging pad, USB Type-C ports, and seamless integration with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
  • Ventilated & heated front seats: The front seats offer both heating and ventilation for year-round comfort, while the rear seats are also heated for added passenger convenience.

Technology and safety features

KGM has equipped the Musso EV with a comprehensive suite of advanced safety technologies designed to protect occupants and support the driver. These systems work together to enhance awareness, reduce risk and provide added confidence on the road. Key safety features include:

  • 4 corner blind spot detection (BSD): Radar sensors monitor surrounding vehicles and pedestrians to help prevent collisions. The system supports functions such as oncoming vehicle detection at junctions, front and side approaching vehicle alerts, oncoming traffic detection during overtaking and evasive steering assistance when required.
  • Trailer Stability Assist (TSA): When towing, TSA helps counteract trailer sway by stabilising the steering, improving control and maintaining load stability.
  • Automatic Lane Change (ALC): When using the indicator on a dual carriageway, ALC uses sensors to safely and automatically change lanes.
  • Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): Allows the driver to set a speed for cruising. The ACC then ensures that the truck maintains a safe distance from the vehicle in front. Furthermore, the ACC ensures that the driver can cruise at a safe speed depending on the speed limit.
  • Multi-Collision Brake (MCB): In the event of an accident where the driver may lose control, MCB automatically applies the brakes to reduce the risk of a secondary collision.

Conclusion

The KGM Musso EV blends the practicality of a traditional pickup truck, the comfort of a premium SUV and the smooth, powerful performance of an electric vehicle. Its exterior combines purposeful styling with thoughtful features that improve everyday usability, particularly when loading and unloading the load bed. Inside, the cabin focuses on comfort and convenience, with adjustable seating, seamless smartphone connectivity and a high-quality sound system.

This balance makes the Musso EV an ideal choice for drivers who want a comfortable and capable vehicle for daily use, while still having the flexibility to carry larger loads for work, road trips or outdoor adventures.
