Suzuki SX4 Review
Suzuki’s rugged SX4 is just as at home on the motorway as it is on muddy country paths. The crossover Suzuki is great to drive, well equipped and gives the robust looks and technology of a 4x4, without the soaring running costs.
With electric front windows, electric door mirrors, MP3 compatible CD player with steering wheel mounted audio controls, air conditioning and cavernous amounts of storage as standard, the SX4’s interior has everything a compact off-roader needs. There is 270 litres of boot space rising to 1045 with the 60/40 split folding rear seats down, meaning the SX4 can transport almost anything over any terrain too.
Coupled to its chunky, purposeful stance, rugged black body trim and halogen headlamps that illuminate everything on the road, the SX4’s exterior matches its interior for build quality and appeal.
Fitted as standard are ABS brakes with Electronic Brake force Distribution and Brake Assist Function, front driver and passenger plus side and curtain airbags, and robust side impact protection beams. The SX4 will certainly keep you safe on and off the road. The SX4’s standard remote central locking and immobiliser functions, as well as deadlocks and theif-proof freewheeling key cylinders, will keep your prized possessions secure too.
The Suzuki SX4 has a range of engines to choose from with a 118hp, 115lb ft 1.6-litre SZ4 four-cylinder petrol unit to the 2.0-litre SZ5 four-cylinder diesel producing 133hp and a tree-toppling 236lb ft of torque. Thanks to Suzuki’s attention to detail when it comes to engineering, the SX4 is strong and sturdy but, with a weight of just 1140kg, gives excellent economy and emissions performance. The diesel can return 61.4mpg and emits only 139g/km of CO2.
Even with Suzuki’s excellent reliability, you’ll still have peace of mind thanks to the Japanese firm’s three year, 60,000 mile warranty and 12 month perforation guarantee too.
The Suzuki SX4 is a vehicle that can go anywhere at any time. Check out the full range at T W White & Sons today.
