Suzuki Splash Review

The Suzuki Splash mini MPV is sure to make a splash thanks to its innovative use of space and amazing levels of flexibility and day-to-day usability.

All models come with five-doors, aiding access to the rear, and will easily carry five in comfort. There’s plenty of room for luggage in the Splash too, despite its compact dimensions. With a 178 litre boot, rising to a generous 573 litres of space with the Splash’s 60/40 split folding rear seats down, Suzuki’s mini MPV will easily take the rigours of family life in its stride.

Both engine choices in the Splash average over 55mpg when mated to Suzuki’s five-speed manual gearbox, while even the easy-driving automatic version averages nearly 50mpg. With the 67hp 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine emitting a road-tax busting 99g/km CO2, the Splash is a frugal little family carrier too. A 93hp 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol producing 119g/km CO2 is also available.

As you’d expect with any MPV, there’s plenty of interior storage. Remote central locking and immobiliser, electric front windows, ISOFIX child seat anchorage points and MP3 compatible CD player with four-speaker audio system and steering wheel mounted audio controls feature among the standard equipment list.

And with front fog lamps and 15-inch alloy wheels available on SZ4 models, giving the Splash a foursquare purposeful stance outside, Suzuki’s mini MPV matches up to style and design on the inside too.

Thanks to ABS with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist function, seatbelt pre-tensioners with load-limiting system, foot-protecting brake and clutch pedals, driver and passenger front and side airbags and energy-absorbent side impact protection beams, the Splash will keep you safe should things go awry. ESP stability control and curtain airbags are also an option on the SZ4 trim level.
