Suzuki Alto Review

The Suzuki Alto is a compact city car that combines everything you need from a small car. But with low emissions and fuel consumption, nippy engines and a stylish and aerodynamic design, the technology behind the Alto is anything but simple.

The Alto comes with a super-frugal 1.0-litre three-cylinder engine producing 67hp and 66lb ft of torque. More importantly though, the Alto retains its nippy nature thanks to its featherlight 885kg kerbweight, combining to improve fuel consumption and emissions performance at 64.3mpg and 103g/km of CO2.

Inside, the Suzuki Alto gets a sports-inspired three-spoke steering wheel as well as plenty of alloy-effect trim to lift the cabin. With silver accents on the handbrake, gear knob, air vents and door handles, the Alto’s interior is a bright and friendly place to sit.

Remote central locking, electric front windows, ISOFIX child seat anchorage points and MP3 compatible audio system are among standard equipment inside. F front fog lamps, 14-inch alloy wheels and body coloured door handles and mirrors are available on SZ4 models to set the Alto’s exterior look off perfectly.

With the Alto’s 50/50 split folding rear seats offering a maximum boot space of 367 litres, Suzuki’s diminutive supermini is anything but small on the inside. It gives you the option of carrying four in comfort or stacks of stuff for when a normal boot just won’t do.

Thanks to ABS brakes, seatbelt pre-tensioners with load-limiting system, as well as driver and passenger front and side airbags, the Alto will keep you safe too – big car features like ESP stability and curtain airbags are also an option on the SZ4 trim level.
