Why is servicing your car important?

Please remember keeping your car properly maintained is very important for you, your car’s health, and to maintain your warranty.

Studies show that a car service can prevent a 10% drop in fuel economy and you will no doubt know that servicing your car can help improve it's reliability, safety and can also help with future resale values when you come to sell it.

If your car hasn't had frequent oil and fluid changes, the engine components are far more likely to fail, and that could cost you huge amounts of money.

Experts argue that most motorists think they recognise the importance of car servicing, but at a time when everyone is looking to cut costs, skimping on your car's servicing isn’t the way to go. Regular maintenance is essential to improving your car's reliability and it can also help reduce the need for major repairs:

“It’s easy to put car servicing off, whether it’s to save money or just due to the demands of work or family, but it could end up costing car owners more in the long-run” explains Frank McCaffrey, Managing Director of Exchange and Mart.

If the brakes, suspension and steering haven't been checked recently, your car could be potentially deadly, too.

The absence of a service history can knock hundreds or thousands off a vehicle’s future value. In contrast, regular servicing not only keeps your car on the road, but helps to make sure potential buyers are not put off when it comes to sell.
